This week, ADVACAM CEO Jan Sohar, as part of our Czech Space industry delegation led by the Czech minister of Transportation Martin Kupka, embarked on an insightful journey across the USA, visiting numerous key players in the space sector. They visited almost every key company in the country, including the headquarters of:
- NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration
- Lockheed Martin Space
- Axiom Space
- Intuitive Machines
- …and several other notable organizations.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀:
The trip was more than just exploratory; it provided deep insights, especially in our discussions about Space Weather monitoring solutions. But, what stood out the most?
𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘃𝘀. 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮’𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻:
Europe shines with its rich academic freedom and traditions, constantly generating innovative technological ideas. However, it often faces hurdles in capitalizing on these innovations, hindered by a somewhat static funding system. Conversely, the United States demonstrates a keen sense for business opportunities, propelled by a dynamic private funding sector. This environment fosters speed and flexibility but sometimes lacks in pioneering truly innovative solutions. For instance, in Space Radiation Monitoring, there’s a noticeable trend to stick with tried-and-tested methods rather than breaking new ground.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 – 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!
The conclusion is clear: Europe and the United States have much to offer each other, with complementary strengths. Fostering closer cooperation is not just beneficial; it’s essential to truly excel. We can create a win-win situation, leveraging Europe’s creative potential and America’s business savvy to propel the space industry forward.
