Head cancer irradiation carries high risks for the patient – it can damage optic nerve or the memory center.

Doctors and specialists from the the German Cancer Research Center, the German National Center for Tumor Diseases, and the Heidelberg Ion Beam Therapy Center have developed a new monitoring device, which utilizes ADVACAM detectors.

At the time of recording, Dr. Mária Martišíková could already present very promissing results from a phantom study. First real patients involved in the InViMo clinical study already started undergoing treatment with the help of the BeamTraX detector.
